Day 18 Sunday

Sunday morning saw a change of scenery as we travelled toward the nothern outskirts of Praha to our new abode - a Crowne Plaza about 15 minutes from the airport. Our first task was to get oriented to our new surroundings by walking about 800 meters on the major street leading south. On the was, we passed several small shops, restaurants, and a BILLA grocery store. At the main square we discovered a KFC and a sub sandwich shop, both of which enjoyed our patronage. This was followed by a search for a laundromat since most of us are out of clean clothes. No such luck in finding one. Many of us then went back to the hotel to catch up on some much-needed rest while others went to explore the area north of the hotel. To the north we found residences and a car sales lots as well as an area that appears to be abandoned since communist times. We think it was a bus terminal or possibly it housed tanks since the hotel we are at was a home for military officials in communist days. Back at the hotel, we enjoyed a late dinner and then many of us washed laundry the old fashioned way in our hotel rooms since we were unsuccessful at finding a laundromat. Tomorrow promises to be a day at school.
